A Passive Addition to an American classic.

This project strives to update a classic 1920’s era center hall farmhouse with modern amenities and performance. The addition expands the living space and increases the openness and flow of the first floor living space. The project also provides a new master suite on the second floor bringing modern amenities to a classic footprint. Services were upgraded to all electric utilities and the shell was over-insulated to provide performance looking to the next 100 years. A work in progress and our own testing lab for all of the principles we believe in, Tillson House is where we are living, sweating, and bleeding for every detail. Once this is complete this will no longer be theory, or something we read about in a book, or learned about in a lecture, or even something a seasoned Carpenter or Building Scientist taught us. It is our home, built with our bare hands (and some tools) with the help of a good local team and occasionally the wee ones.
